Caring and cleaning for your NOGU bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings shouldn't be rocket science. Here's your go-to guide for cleaning and caring for all of our jewelry based on the material they're made of.

Sterling Silver and Vermeil

1. Avoid over-exposing your sterling silver and vermeil pieces to water. While water its self shouldn't harm your jewelry it can eventually induce tarnishing over time. Make sure to take them off before working out, washing your hands, or taking a shower as salt and other chemicals can be harmful to the metal

2. Additionally, take it off before applying perfume, hair products, or skincare products

3. Store in a dry place, away from harsh elements like direct sunlight, cold, or heat

To clean: wipe and buff gently with a dry, clean cloth.

Stainless Steel

NOGU How to Clean and Care for Stainless Steel Handmade Jewelry (bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces)

1. Even though stainless steel does not corrode or rust, it can scratch easily. If possible, wear your stainless steel jewelry solo so it doesn’t get scratched by other jewelry

2. Store separately from jewelry made from other materials

To clean: pour warm water and mild dishwashing soap into a small bowl and dip a soft, lint-free cloth into the water. Wipe the stainless steel jewelry with the damp cloth until the piece is clean. Rinse the jewelry and towel dry once you are done.

Iridescent and Lampwork Glass

1. Ideally, keep lampwork glass away from water, but iridescent glass (like Mermaid and Galaxy Glass) is waterproof. Keep in mind that chemicals like chlorine can damage the sterling silver accents which many iridescent glass pieces have

To clean: lightly dampen a soft cotton cloth and wipe glass jewelry carefully. Towel dry afterward.
